“What’s Your Type?” PSA

We experience regular blood shortages in the US, which is a huge issue when the need for blood is so common. Every two seconds, a person needs blood to survive. So every year, we aim to tackle this problem with some action-driving work for American Red Cross. By showing that all types of blood can save all types of people, we turned a question based in self interest into the selfless act of blood donation through a misdirect.

“Growing up” PSA

After we sold through “What’s Your Type?” an advertising miracle occurred. Our client uttered words rarely spoken in this industry, “We have budget for a second spot.” And “Growing Up” was born (pun intended). To target the hispanic market, our clients brought back our runner-up script that follows the story of a mother and her son. It aims to educate donors on one of the common uses of blood donation (birth complications) and illustrate an emotional story that moves viewers to donate. Although this script was a second choice, it quickly became our favorite.

TikTok campaign

Knowing that commercials rarely reach the eyes of younger people outside of their phone screens, we took to tiktok to inspire the next generation of blood donors with real stories. We ideated, scripted, and shot all three of these with a handful of creators whose lives had been saved through blood donations. Our favorite was unfortunately flagged so view it here.
